Daycare Parent App: Report Absences & Authorize Pickup

This BrightBadge tour shows parents their pickup code, how to report an absence, and how to add someone who can pick up. This guide shows how to: find your six-digit pickup code and see whether each child is checked in or out; send I'm On My Way, or report an absence with dates and a reason (no phone call needed).

Your dashboard & pickup code

This is your BrightBadge parent dashboard. Everything about your child's day at the center is right here.

You don't sign up for BrightBadge — your daycare invites you. You sign in with the email they have on file, and your children are already here. This is your pickup code — six digits. Together with your email, it's what you use at the check-in screen. We've blurred it here. Think of it like a house key. Don't post it or share it. If someone else needs to pick up, add them as a guardian — we'll show you how in a minute.

Your children's status & I'm On My Way

Here are your children. You can see whether each one is checked in or out right now… …and the last thing that happened — what time, and who did it.

Down here, Notify Site gives you two quick ways to let your center know something. Running to pickup? Click I'm On My Way, and choose about when you'll get there. Click Send Alert, and the staff know you're coming, so your child can be ready.

Report an absence

If your child will be out, click Report Absence. Choose your child, the dates, and the reason.

Add a note if you like. Click Submit, and the center knows — no phone call needed.

Announcements & health information

Messages from your center — like a closure, a reminder, or picture day — show up under Announcements.

Health Information is where you keep allergies, medications, and medical notes up to date. Click View Edit to open it. Your center's staff can see what you enter here. Click Back to return to your dashboard.

Add someone who can pick up

Authorized Guardians are the other people allowed to pick up your children. Click Manage.

Anyone you add gets a welcome email. For your children's safety, a guardian can only be removed after seven days. Click Add Guardian next to your child, and type their name, email, and how they're related. Click Add Guardian to save. They get their own pickup code — so grandma never needs yours.

Language & the BrightBadge phone app

Prefer Spanish? Click the language menu at the top and choose Español — your whole dashboard switches over.

Everything you just saw is also in the BrightBadge app on your phone. You sign in to the Parent Portal with the same email and password from your daycare's invitation. Your home screen has your pickup code, your children, I'm On My Way, Report Absence, and your messages — all in your pocket. Tap QR Code. If your center uses a tablet that scans, show this code. It refreshes on its own every minute, so a screenshot won't work.

Show it at the check-in screen, it's scanned, and you're done. Tap Messages for your center's announcements, and another way to report an absence. Tap Guardians to manage who can pick up, right from your phone. And tap Profile to turn on notifications, so you know when your child is checked in or out.
