Setting up your daycare and sites

Your dashboard at a glance
This is the BrightBadge owner dashboard. Everything about your center — who's here, who's working, and who picked up — lives on this one screen.
Across the top are your main tools: Create a Site, Invite Parent, Settings, your notifications, and the language menu — choose Español there to switch BrightBadge to Spanish. These three tiles are your day at a glance — how many children you have, how many are checked in right now, and how many staff are here. Up here on the right are your sites. If you run more than one location, this is where you switch.
Down below are your quick actions — your team, your children, today's attendance, announcements, signature records, and health information. Each one has its own video.
Kiosk access & what a site is
This card holds your kiosk access: your Site ID, your own staff code, and the web address for the check-in screen.
We've blurred the code here — keep yours private. In BrightBadge, a site is one check-in screen with its own list of children and staff. Each site gets its own Site ID. So here's the simple rule: if a floor or a building has its own front door and its own check-in table, give it its own site. One site per floor, or one site per building.
Create a site
To add one, click Create a Site. It opens a short form.
Right at the top, it shows how many sites your plan has left. On this plan, it's unlimited. Give it a name your staff and parents will recognize — like Sunny Days Daycare, second floor. Then the address. A second floor can share the same street address as the first — that's fine. Pick the timezone. Every check-in time on your records will follow it. When you click Create Site, BrightBadge makes the new site and gives it its own Site ID for its own kiosk. We'll click Cancel here, so our demo stays tidy.
Switching between sites
With more than one site, you switch up here. Click Sunny Days Toddler House, and the whole dashboard shows that building.
Each site keeps its own children, check-ins and records — here, three toddlers. Click Sunny Days Daycare to switch back. And because each site knows where a child is, a child who's checked in at one site can't be checked in again at another by mistake.
Settings & record retention
Now click Settings, at the top. It opens your account and center details.
Here's your daycare name — that's what families see — and your Site ID, the code your staff use to open the check-in screen. Further down, Record retention sets how long sign-in and sign-out records are kept. Check your licensing rules first — the default is six years. Click Dashboard, at the top left, to go back home.
Recap
So that's your setup: the top bar, your three numbers, your sites, and your settings.
In the next video, we'll add your staff and show you where their check-in codes live.
