Open the kiosk

This is the BrightBadge check-in screen at your front door. Let's do a drop-off and a pickup, start to finish — then the even simpler way.

Each morning, a staff member opens it with your center's Site ID and their own staff code. We've blurred the code. Click Access Site Kiosk, and the check-in screen is open for the day.

Parent sign-in & language

A parent signs in with two things: the email their daycare has on file, and their six-digit pickup code.

The parent types their email and their pickup code — both blurred here. And clicks See My Children. Here are their kids, and whether each one is checked in or out. Prefer Spanish? Click the language menu, up here, and choose Español — the whole check-in screen switches over.

Drop-off: check in with a signature

To drop off, the parent clicks the big green button: Are you checking in Emma?

They sign their name right on the screen, with their name already filled in. Then they tick the box to confirm they're dropping off their child. Click Complete Check In — and it's saved, with the time and the signature. Click Next Parent, and the screen is ready for the next family.

Pickup: check out

Pickup works the same way: the email, the pickup code, and See My Children.

This time the button says check out. Click Are you here to check out Emma? They sign again, tick the box to confirm the pickup, and click Complete Check Out. Emma is checked out — a safe hand-off, on the record.

The QR shortcut on your phone

Now, the even simpler way. Open the BrightBadge app on your phone and tap Show QR Code.

Hold it up to the camera on the kiosk tablet, or let a staff member scan it with their phone. No email, no pickup code to type. It refreshes every minute, so a screenshot won't work — we've blurred it here. The first time your QR is scanned, you sign on screen — and you can tick Save this signature for next time. After that, show your QR, tap your child, and confirm. No signing: your saved signature is applied for you.

Save your signature ahead of time

You can also save your signature ahead of time. On your BrightBadge parent dashboard, scroll to My signature.

It says no signature is saved yet. Click Add a signature. It's optional, and it's only used when your own BrightBadge QR code is scanned. Otherwise, you sign on screen each time. Sign your name in the box, then tick the box to agree. Click Save signature. It's on file — and you can replace it or withdraw it right here, any time.

The owner's signature record & PDF

Now, what the owner sees. In Signature Records, type the child's name and click Search Records.

Click View on today's pickup. It shows who signed, the date and time, check-in or check-out, and how it was signed — here, on screen at the kiosk. When a parent checks in with their QR code and saved signature, this line says so: Adopted signature, own QR code scanned. Every record keeps the captured signature, too. Close it, and PDF gives you that record ready to print — for an inspector, a parent, or your files.

That's it: sign the first time, save your signature if you like, and from then on, just show your QR code.
