Daycare Sign-In Kiosk: Signed Drop-Off & Pickup
See a full day on a daycare sign-in kiosk: staff open it with their codes, parents check in and check out with a finger signature, and staff close the site. This guide shows how to: open the kiosk with your Site ID and staff code; parent sign-in with email and six-digit pickup code (families only see their own children).

The check-in kiosk: drop-off, pickup and closing
Full transcript of the video narration, by chapter.
Open the kiosk with your codes
This is the check-in screen — the one that sits at your front door on a tablet or a computer.
Let's walk through a whole day. Each morning, a staff member opens it with two things: your center's Site ID, and their own six-digit staff code. Both are on the BrightBadge home screen — owners on the Kiosk Access card, staff on their dashboard. Type the Site ID, then your staff code. We've blurred the code in this video. For safety, the session closes by itself after four hours, and every attempt is logged.
Click Access Site Kiosk, and the check-in screen is open for the day. Up top, it shows which staff member opened it.
Parent sign-in
Now it's ready for families. A parent signs in with two things: the email their daycare has on file, and their six-digit pickup code.
Families only ever see their own children here — never anyone else's. The parent types their email and their pickup code. And clicks See My Children. Here are their kids, and whether each one is checked in or out. If a family has more than one child, Select Multiple lets them check in or out together. Families who prefer Spanish can click the language menu, up here, and choose Español — the whole check-in screen switches over.
Drop-off: check in with a signature
To drop off, the parent clicks the big green button: Are you checking in Emma?
It asks for a signature to confirm the check-in, with the parent's name already filled in. They sign right on the screen with a finger. Made a mistake? Click Clear and sign again. Then they tick Confirm Check In, to say they are dropping off their child. Click Complete Check In — and it's saved, with the time and the signature. BrightBadge confirms it, and behind the message, Emma now shows as checked in, with the time. Click Next Parent, and the screen goes back to sign-in, ready for the next family.
Pickup: check out
Pickup works exactly the same way. The parent — or anyone they've approved to pick up — signs in with their email and pickup code.
This time the button says checkout. Click Are you here to checkout Emma? They sign, tick the box to confirm the pickup, and click Complete Check Out. Emma is checked out. That's a safe hand-off, and it's on the record.
Close the site at end of day
At the end of the day, a staff member clicks End Site Session, at the bottom.
BrightBadge double-checks: closing ends the kiosk session, marks the site offline, and stops new check-ins until it's opened again. Click Yes, Close Site, and enter a staff code to confirm. So closing is tied to a person too. That's the full day: open with your codes, check in, check out, and close up.
Tablet QR option & up next
If you run the BrightBadge app on a tablet in Kiosk Mode, parents have one more option: they open the QR code in their BrightBadge app and hold it up to be scanned — no typing at all.
Next, we'll look at the parent's side — what families do every day on their phone.
